Pre-blended super creamy oat milkOats blended in a high-power blender can produce a viscous oat milk that remains as part of the blended liquid, providing long-term clean energy for your morning and hearty smoothie.
Ingredients for the Recipe
This smoothie is a protein-fiber bomb! You’ll need these – get the full printable recipe card at the end of this post.
OATS – Oat are used to provide fullness, are a good source of fiber, and can also be blended to make oat milk. Continue to blend for added processing if needed multiplexing the blender for anywhere from 1 to 2 minutes or until they reach your preferred homogenization, times will vary from recipe to recipe.
YOGURT – Greek yogurt is high in protein so it will keep you fueled for longer, ideally plain! Plain Greek yogurt with vanilla truly makes a difference between sugary and sweet yogurt.
BANANA – For a smoother texture, choose ripe sliced banana or frozen slices. Top with banana slices and freeze overnight on the parchment paper layer into the dish. Add to shake when you prepare to make it!
MILK – Any dairy milk, or plant-based. Almond milk and oat milk with soy milk water.
CINNAMON – For great cinnamon goodness Mix it in and spread a little on top to serve.
SWEETENER – I used brown sugar to help sweeten things up a bit and sugar always gives me that cinnamon bun kind of flavor. Replace with honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, molasses, or monk fruit sweetener if you like it sweeter.
VANILLA – Vanilla extract — a hint of vanilla extract adds depth to the warm flavor.
ICE – Cold nutritious smoothie!
How to Make the Cinnamon Breakfast Smoothie
Creating this cinnamon bun breakfast smoothie recipe is simple. Here’s how:
ADD INGREDIENTS – Add aLL of the ingredients into a high-speed blender milk first, followed by Greek yogurt and ice. Now throw rolled oats, slices of banana, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and cinnamon on top.
BLEND – Process until creamy and smooth and no chunks of the oatmeal. Blend for 2 to 3 minutes until creamy to taste, similar to homemade oat milk
SERVE – Pour the smoothie into two glasses, top with some more cinnamon to serve, and a straw for an easy sip.
Can You Refrigerate Leftover Smoothie?
Do not save leftover smoothies in the fridge, since the ingredients separate, and the flavor and texture will change.
But if you have the room and want to freeze — I would recommend it too as it created a great texture and an even creamier smoothie. Follow these steps:
- Make a smoothie in a blender following the instructions Put the puree in your empty ice cube trays and freeze them overnight.
- So the next day, you can take those now-frozen cubes and pop them into a vacuum-sealed freezer bag.
- They freeze beautifully for up to six months. When you are ready to make a smoothie, blend at least 6 cubes with 1 cup of milk or water until smooth and of a creamy consistency.
- Add Facilitate liquid if needed to blend.
This technique adds a thicker creamier texture, so you can do it if you like sweeter and denser smoothies.
Smoothie Making Tips:
– Always pour water or anything liquid first in the blender to make sure the blender is running smoothly, this is important.
– Freeze some often-used foods, such as yogurt, milk, or sliced bananas beforehand, ideally in an ice-cube tray or on a sheet of parchment.
– So, try out superfoods that include Protein powders, hemp seeds, and chia seeds that could add up to the macronutrients of your smoothie as well.
– Drink your smoothie right after you blend it as it will lose a bit of freshness as it gets cold. Put it in an insulated mug. Stainless steel keeps it perfectly cold.
